After the dishwasher has been delivered to your home, the fun begins - installation and connection. It is not enough just to connect the appliance to the network and start using it, it is important to organize wiring and choose the outlet for the dishwasher. How to make a choice yourself and install everything, we will now tell.
Proper connection
Dishwasher is a powerful consumer of energy, which is dangerous to connect simultaneously with other devices. Since the equipment can work unattended, many users, having loaded the dishes, go about their business. If the PMM is connected through an extension cord or to an unprepared terminal, a fire may occur.
Experts recommend choosing a reliable outlet with grounding and a moisture-resistant housing, since work takes place with water and electricity at the same time.
Where to install a dishwasher? Both a freestanding and a built-in model are recommended to be located near the sink. This will facilitate the organization of water and drain connections.
If you have an old aluminum wiring, you need to change everything. By distributing the current correctly, you will protect yourself and devices from unforeseen situations.
Since the PMM power cord is usually short, the height of the outlet from the floor should be 40-45 cm.
What you need to connect to the mains
First you need to choose a wire. It is important that this is a three-wire copper wire with insulation. If you intend to connect only one device, give preference to a wire with a cross section of 1.5 cm. If you will connect additional ones, choose a cross section of 2.5 cm.
It is recommended to calculate the load on one wiring in advance. Then, if an additional device is connected, there will be no problems.
Then you need to pick up the machine. You can choose a PMM of any brand, the main thing is to calculate the voltage that it will create. If you don’t know which machine to install, see that it is single-phase and rated for 16 Amps.
Additionally, you may need a stabilizer. How to choose a stabilizer for the dishwasher, we talked about in one of our previous articles.
What kind of outlet do you need? Preferably European type, only with moisture resistant housing and grounding.
Now you understand what wire and accessories you need to install an integrated and free-standing dishwasher. It remains to organize everything correctly.
Installation of electrical communications
Work with electricity is best trusted by a specialist. But if you are sure that you can do it yourself, first decide where it is better to make a conclusion for the connection. It will be correct to prepare a detailed drawing and to lay communications on it already.
- Having decided on the direction of the cable, start the installation. It can be positioned through cable channels, which is less time consuming. You can pave a wire channel in the wall.
- Organize a place and install a power outlet. Connect a voltage stabilizer to it, and a technique to the stabilizer.
- Connect through the machine.
After organizing the electrical wiring, you can do the drain and water supply. How to connect a dishwasher, you can read in a separate article.
What cannot be done when connecting the PMM to the network
- Carrying, tees, extension cords is prohibited. Overloading may result in fire.
- It is forbidden to use the connection point of the electric stove for the dishwasher.
- Do not connect the PMM without a difavtomat. When overloaded, it turns off the equipment, saving the electronic elements from combustion.
When the work is finished, you can perform a test run of the dishwasher. Check if the control panel, indicators, keys are working properly. Experiment with a selection of washing modes.
