If you decide to repair the Ariston washing machine with your own hands, you definitely need to know how to disassemble it.
We will provide you with step-by-step instructions, as well as tell you what tools will be needed. There is nothing complicated in this repair, the main thing is the sequence of work and free space.
Repair Preparation
We do not give a 100% guarantee that you will repair your washing machine. We give recommendations for disassembling the machine. Therefore, if you are determined to replace the defective part or find the cause of the breakdown, begin preparation.
What tool is needed
You will need:
- Screwdrivers of various configurations: slotted (flat), Phillips, hex.
- Torx keys set.
- 8 mm and 10 mm open-end spanners.
- Hammer and chisel.
- Pliers.
- Nippers.
- Hacksaw and metal blade.
Ariston washing machine must be properly prepared for disassembly:
- Disconnect the plug from the socket by disconnecting the AGR from the power.
- Turn off the water shutoff valve.
- Unscrew the nut of the inlet hose from the machine body. Since the back cover must be removed, it is better to completely remove the hose to the side.
The preparation of the washer also consists in draining the remaining water. Therefore, prepare a collection container in advance. Unscrewing water from the inlet hose may result.
- Going to the front, find the drain filter. It is located in the lower part of the body, behind the hatch. Open the hatch by opening the latches. Unscrew the filter and drain the water. At the same time, clean the part from debris.
- Move the machine away from the wall so that it is convenient for you to move around and remove parts.
On this the preparation is over. You can foresee a container for collecting bolts and screws, which will be a lot.
Work stages
On the one hand, disassembling the Ariston washing machine is quite simple, since there is no need to remove the front panel. On the other hand, the manufacturer has provided parts and fixtures that are difficult to remove for a novice master.
We will deal with all issues in order.
Remove panels and covers
First of all, the upper panel is removed, which is fastened with two screws.
To remove the top cover of the Ariston washing machine, they need to be unscrewed from the back wall with a Phillips or hexagonal screwdriver. Then push the cover in the direction opposite to you, lift it up and set it aside.
Proceed to the back panel. To remove it, unscrew the bolts around the perimeter, remove the panel to the side. You have gained access to the engine and drum pulley.
It remains to remove the control panel. Work sequence:
- Pull out the detergent drawer. While pressing the latch in the center, pull the tray toward you and remove it from the chassis.
- Unscrew the screws that are behind the tray and on the opposite side of the panel.
- Using a flat screwdriver, squeeze the plastic latches. Take a photo of the location of the wires on the panel or mark them with a marker.
- Wiring can be turned off and the panel removed to the side. Or you can hang it on the service hook, if any.
You will also need to remove the clamp from the cuff of the hatch so that you can get a tank. Having removed a sealant, pry a collar a screw-driver and remove. Tuck the cuff inside the tank.
So, with the panels we are done. We move on.
We dismantle the parts in the back
Return to the back wall of the CM. It is necessary to remove the drive belt by removing it from the pulley. To do this, pull it towards you, scroll the pulley.
Next steps:
- Pay attention to the motor of the Hotpoint Ariston washing machine. It is located in the lower part, under the tank.
- To pull the motor out of the housing, disconnect the wiring leading to it.
- Remove the bolts that hold the motor. In cars of this brand, the part is usually held by four bolts.
- Rocking the engine back and forth, pull it out.
Engage in the wiring of the heater.
It is not at all necessary to remove the heater from the seat socket. In this case, the sealing rubber of the element cannot be restored. Therefore, it is enough to disconnect the terminals and wires leading to the heater.
Time to remove the drain pump. If the engine could be reached through the rear hole, then the pump cannot be removed like that. Have to turn the washer on the left side.
Note! If it is inconvenient for you to remove the motor through the service hatch at the rear, this can also be done through the bottom.
- Remove the screws that secure the bottom cover, if it is in your model.
- Unscrew the screws that are in the area of the drain filter on the front panel.
- Push the filter, it should fall out with the pump.
- With pliers, unclip the metal clamp on the drain pipe.
- Disconnect the nozzle from the pump.
- Remove the bolts holding the filter and pump.
Fine! Now the pump is in your hands. We proceed to further disassembly of the Ariston washing machine.
Remove parts at the top
Go to the top hole of the Ariston SMA, inspect all the elements of the machine. What else prevents pulling out the tank? That's right, interference filter and pressure switch.
- Unclench all wire connectors leading to the filter and pressure switch. Remove the pressure hose from the latter.
- Unscrew the self-tapping screws fixing parts on the case. Get them out of the car.
Also disconnect the pressure switch hose from the tank body, otherwise it may break during dismantling. Often, manufacturers attach wiring to the tank using plastic clips. Have a bite of their nippers and move the wiring aside.
Difficulties in disassembling
Before you completely disassemble the Ariston washing machine, you need to remove the balances. In other brands of cars there are no difficulties with their removal. But Ariston manufacturers equipped the counterweights with special mounts. To remove them, you will need a special key, as shown in the photo:
Attention! Do not try to pluck fasteners with pliers and other tools. So you damage the fasteners, which can not be restored.
If you managed to remove the counterweight - great! Proceed to unscrew the racks. Racks are mounted on plastic rods. You can pull them out only by pressing the latches that hold them in place. For this:
- Arm yourself with a head, put it on the opposite side of the stem.
- With pliers, pull the stem toward you, pulling it out of the socket. Also remove the other stock.
Now the tank is held only on hooks-pendants. To remove the drum from the Ariston washing machine, lift it upward, removing it from the hooks.
Another difficulty. If you need to get the drum out of the tank, you will have to saw it, because in these models it is not separable.
Before cutting, you need to take care of the further assembly of the tank. To do this, make holes along the perimeter, into which then screw the bolts. Also prepare glue or sealant.
- Take a hacksaw or a blade for metal (which is more convenient for you). They are thinner, which allows you to make a neat cut.
- Install the tank on the rib. Start cutting from the side convenient for you.
- After sawing the tank around the perimeter, remove the top.
- Flip the bottom half. Hammer lightly on the stem to knock out the drum.
If necessary, you can replace the bearings.
To reassemble the tank parts, reinstall the drum. Coat the edges of the halves with glue or sealant. What tool is better to choose for sealing, we wrote in one of the articles.
It remains to fasten the two parts and tighten the screws. Assembly of the car is carried out in the reverse order.
