The first launch of the dishwasher is a holiday for any housewife. And although after buying and installing the equipment you can’t wait to load the baskets with dishes and try the car in action, we advise you not to rush. Read the instruction manual first. If the manufacturer has not indicated how to properly launch the dishwasher for the first time, our article will help you.
Dishwasher Test Launch
Before starting the PMM Bosch, Siemens, Hansa for the first time, you need to conduct a test wash without dishes. Some parts inside the hopper may be factory lubricated, dust and small debris are not excluded. Therefore, do not rush to immediately put the dishes.
Why test run is useful:
- Eliminates trash from the camera.
- Allows you to check the quality of connections, the correct connection.
- Check heater, temperature settings.
You will also be able to practice choosing the right programs, you will find out how much detergent, salt and rinse aid you will have to add.
How to install a dishwasher, read here. Check that the hoses are connected to the communications and the plug is inserted into the outlet.
Remove all packaging material, stickers from the camera. Then:
- Turn the sprayer by hand, make sure that it rotates properly.
- Take out the filter, check integrity.
- Next to the filter is a salt tank. Open the lid, fill the compartment with water and fill with a means. You can find out which salt is best in the article.
If your Gorenje, Kuppersberg or other brand has a water hardness control, set it to the desired value. The greater the hardness of the water, the greater the value the regulator should indicate. You can find out the water hardness using a test strip from the regional hardness table.
- Put one tablet in the detergent drawer or pour the gel as indicated on the package. The dispenser is located on the inside of the door.
- On the control panel, specify the type of tool used.
- Set up a long program at high temperature.
- Start the wash by pressing the "Start" key.
It is advisable to monitor the operation of the dishwasher during a test wash in order to detect problems in time. What you need to pay special attention to:
- Water intake.
- Heat.
- Waste water discharge.
- Drying.
If everything is in order, allow the machine to cool. Having figured out how to use the PMM, you can make the 1st launch.
Salt and rinse aid are loaded for several cycles. Indicators on the panel will inform about their completion. But the detergent must be added before each wash.
First wash
After the machine has cooled down and dried out, you can start loading the instruments. To wash dishes efficiently, follow the rules:
- Thoroughly clean plates of food debris.
- Place large appliances (pans, pots) in the bottom drawer. Make sure that dishes do not block the sprayer. Place plates in the middle basket. Do not place them close, otherwise they will not wash well. Place the cutlery in the upper compartment.
In many Siemens, Samsung, Ariston models, baskets with dishes are adjustable in height, and the holders fold. Therefore, loading large appliances is much more convenient.
- Add detergent, rinse aid to the dispenser (if you did not do this at the test run). Close the compartment.
- How to enable the desired program? Take a look at the instructions. Depending on the degree of contamination, you can select “Quick Cycle”, “Intensive” or “Delicate Mode”. Modern PMMs have sensors that automatically determine the degree of load and select the optimal program.
- Click on "Start" and wait for the end of the cycle.
The technical specifications indicate whether there is an audio signal after the end of the cycle. So the machine notifies the user of the completion of work. Instead of a signal there may be a “beam on the floor”. During the program, the beam is red, and at the end it is green.
Take out the dishes and evaluate them according to the following criteria:
- purity, shine, smell;
- quality of drying, lack of stains.
If there are stains, dirt, transparent plates on the dishes that look dull and cloudy, do not rush to blame the machine. You need to experiment with loading and detergents. So:
- Incorrect positioning of the plates leads to residual dirt on the surface.
- An improper rinse aid has been selected, so the glass products are cloudy.
- A strong chemical odor may indicate an excess dosage of the washing powder.
Rules for using the PMM
In any instruction to the machines "Electrolux", "Bosch", "Coopersberg" precautions are indicated. Observing them, you will extend the life of your equipment:
- Do not touch the PMM case with wet hands after turning it on.
- Do not connect the equipment through an extension cord.
- After a wash cycle, clean the drain filter.
- Once every six months, clean the machine with special tools.
